MEQUON — The Mequon-Thiensville Community Foundation has presented a $150,000 grant to support the development of the ages 2 to 5 play area located within the Rotary AllUser Playground at Rotary Park, 4100 Highland Road, one organizers say is expected to become a cornerstone of community engagement, inclusion and recreation for years to come.
The contribution for the project, which is led by the Thiensville-Mequon Rotary Foundation, advances the shared vision of creating an inclusive, accessible space where children and families of all abilities can play and connect. The playground incorporates features that accommodate individuals with a wide range of physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities.
Once completed, it will serve as a welcoming destination for the entire community.
“We are honored to support a project that so clearly reflects our mission of enhancing the quality of life in our community,” MTCF President Lori Lorenz said. “This playground will be a place where every child feels included, and every family feels welcome. It’s an investment not just in infrastructure, but in belonging.”
The Thiensville-Mequon Rotary Foundation has been instrumental in bringing the project to life, leading fundraising efforts and rallying community support.
“This generous gift from MTCF brings us one step closer to making the Rotary All-User Playground a reality,” Mequon Rotary Park Playground Committee Co-Chair Jenne Hohn added. “Our goal is to create a space where barriers are removed, and joy is shared by all. We’re incredibly grateful for MTCF’s partnership in making this vision possible.”
