Pam Stark selected to receive award for continuing commitment to community
MEQUON, Wis., March 22, 2021 – The Mequon Community Foundation (MCF) will hold its ninth Pillars of the Community Award ceremony on June 2nd, 2021, at Ozaukee Country Club in Mequon. MCF will recognize Pam Stark as its 9th Pillars of the Community awardee.
Each year, MCF selects an individual who has had a significant and lasting impact on making Mequon a great place to live and work. Honorees are recognized with the Pillars of the Community (POTC) award. Prior awardees have included members of the business community, government employees and community leaders.
“We are very pleased to honor Pam Stark at this year’s Pillars of the Community Luncheon,” said Richard Janezic, Mequon Community Foundation President. “Pam has worked tirelessly as a community volunteer in Mequon, in Ozaukee County and across Greater Milwaukee for over 25 years. She truly embodies the principles that the Mequon Community Foundation stands for through her enduring commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Mequon.”
The POTC award luncheon will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021, beginning 11:30 AM at the Ozaukee Country Club in Mequon, WI. The event will be held in the outdoor tent, be live streamed, and will follow then prevailing coronavirus distancing and meeting guidelines. The 2021 POTC ceremony will be sponsored by Mequon-based wealth and investment advisor Gentian Financial. Registration and ticket information is available here.
Pam Stark began her volunteer service with Mequon-Thiensville Family Services (now Ozaukee Family Services) in 1991. She has been the Ozaukee Family Services (OFS) Auxiliary President since 1998 and a board member. Stark has long been involved in a variety of organizations in the Mequon area including: Mequon-Thiensville School volunteer; the Mequon Soccer Club; Brownie and Girl Scout group leader, and; board member of the Child Advocacy Center. She received the Volunteer of the Year award from the Ozaukee Volunteer Center in 2016.
Pam has extended the scope of her service beyond Mequon. She is an active member of the Woman’s Club of Wisconsin in 2005. She has been a board member and has taken part in community outreach and grant allocations through the WCW Foundation. Stark’s community involvement beyond Mequon includes: Sojourner Family Peace Center in Milwaukee; the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and; the Notre Dame School of Milwaukee.
“Everyone has a story and we all have a purpose,” commented Stark. “I firmly believe we all pay it forward. What a great journey it is — so many people have impacted me in a positive way and hopefully, I have had an impact on some, too.”
Pam resides in Mequon with her husband, Brian and has two adult children.
